My favorite iPhone apps
With currently 128,528 iPhone apps available in the appstore, finding the good stuff becomes more and more difficult.
“There’s a site for that” or actually two:
Here are my favorites as an inspiration:
Location-based
- Gowalla (like Foursquare but better): check in to places around you
- Qype Radar: find the best restaurants, bars, etc around you
- Geocaching: play outdoors for a change :)
Productivity
- Evernote: keep notes in the cloud; has desktop app for mac and win
- iOutBank Pro: mobile banking
- NetNewsWire: RSS reader
- Dropbox: sync files across multiple desktops/mobiles and share with colleagues
Communication / Blogging
- Facebook: you will know that one
- XING: …
- Skype: make skype calls when you have wifi connection
- IM+: chat via icq, msn, skype, facebook, etc
- Tweetie: twitter client
- WordPress: create posts on the go
- Tumblr: same same
Travel
- DB Navigator: check train, bus, etc connections
- FlightTrack: check flights, delays, etc
Music / Video
- Last.fm: listen to your fav artists or music genre
- Shazam: identify songs on the radio or wherever you are
- aSleep: some nature sounds for falling asleep :)
- Animoto: creates cool videos from your pictures
Other
- Ego: gives you stats from your web presences based on analytics
- teXXas: shows you when that movie starts on tv or in the cinema
- MyPhone+: takes pictures from facebook and adds them to your iPhone contacts
- domains2go: check if that domain is free on the go
